7 Sparrow peripherals and sensors

This Sparrow system is a complete small microcontroller system which can be used in very different hardware contexts. Particularly interesting applications arise with the connection to different sensors. Our Sparrow can react on different environmental stimuli and carry out meaningful activities.

7.1 Sparrow_TouchB4

When you touch the input B4, then the red LED switches on for five seconds. It is sufficient to connect a short wire, which is touched only on the outside of its insulation. Or you can use an insulated metal piece as a capacitive proximity sensor.

The program calculates the small capacitance change at port B4 when touched. B4 is charged during this measurement via the high resistance pull-up. Immediately after switching on this pullup, the input state of the pin is interrogated.
